Lisa Moore – Administrator
Mrs. Moore has led Faith Christian Academy for 15 years. Before taking her current position at FCA, she worked in teaching and counseling for 10 years at a Christian school in Maryland. She holds a bachelor’s degree from Grace College in elementary education and psychology and a master’s from the University of Maryland in school counseling. She is married to Dale Moore.

Bruce Devers - Assistant Administrator
A Kentucky native, Mr. Devers studied biology at the University of Louisville and received his master's degree from The College of William and Mary. He taught at Portsmouth Christian and Denbigh Baptist Christian Schools. He served as principal at Richmond Christian School before returning to Portsmouth Christian as principal and administrator. Mr. Devers and his wife, Patricia, have two grown sons and four grandchildren.

Cindy Jamerson – Three-year-old Preschool
Mrs. Jamerson, who also went to nursing school, has taught preschool at Faith Christian for six years. She and husband, Paul, have one son, Paul.

Shannon Decker - First and Second Grade Assistant
Mrs. Decker has taught preschool for at Faith Christian and Brookneal and worked in the public school system as a substitute for four years. She and husband, Chris, have two children at FCA: Madison, seventh grade, and Brody, fifth grade.

Hannah Hendricks - Four-year-old Preschool
A North Carolina native, Miss Hendricks received a bachelors degree in elementary education and special education from Liberty University. Miss Hendricks, completing her first year at FCA, developed a love for teaching after working as a teacher's assistant in high school. She teaches a five-day, K-4 class.

Jackie Compton – Four-year-old Preschool
Mrs. Compton has taught preschool for 12 years. Before that, she taught the Headstart Reading Program for one year and coordinated Moppetts for one year. She and husband of 23 years, Michael, have a daughter, Sarah, a freshman at Liberty.

Janice Shaffer – Kindergarten
Mrs. Shaffer earned her master's degree in elementary education from Liberty University. She received her undergraduate degree from Geneva College in Beaver Falls, Pa. She has taught and directed preschools and daycares. Mrs. Shaffer and husband, Barry, have two grown children and four grandchildren. They also host exchange students.

Rose Shelton – First and Second Grade
Mrs. Shelton was first hired as a kindergarten teacher when Faith Christian was founded in 1989. Before that, she taught in the public school for seven years. She has a bachelor’s degree from James Madison University, a master’s degree from Longwood University, and an early childhood endorsement from Liberty University. Mrs. Shelton and husband, Carroll, have two daughters, Susan and Amy.

Kim Willard – Third Grade
Mrs. Willard, who has a bachelor’s degree in elementary education from Lee University in Cleveland, Tenn., has taught a range of elementary classes, preschool, kindergarten, third grade, and fifth grade. Her husband, the Rev. David J. Willard, is the pastor of Valley View Church of God.

Susan Westbrook – Fourth Grade
Mrs. Westbrook, who grew up in Lynchburg, received an elementary education degree from Liberty University. She has taught a variety of elementary grades during the last 14 years. She taught in South Korea for three years. She and her husband, Jeff, live in Altavista with their three children, Elisabeth, Isaac, and Caleb.

Cindy Irby – Fifth Grade
Mrs. Irby has taught fourth through sixth grades at Hendersonville Christian Academy, Metro Christian Schools, and Heritage and Hope Academy. She holds a bachelor’s degree from Liberty University. She and husband, Doug, have two children, Lexi, a 11th grader, and Collin, an ninth grader. Both attend Faith Christian. Middle/High School

Brian Taylor – Secondary History
A Mississippi native, Mr. Taylor earned his bachelor's degree from Delta State University and master's from the University of Southern Mississippi. He taught in Mississippi and Alaska before moving to Forest to preach at Terrace View Baptist Church. Mr. Taylor and his wife, Lisa, have a daughter, Anna Grace.

Lynn Miller – Middle School English
Mrs. Miller holds a bachelor’s degree from Central Wesleyan College. She has taught at Faith for many years. She and husband, Steve, have three daughters, Rebecca, Stephanie, and Sarah.

Tracey Fox - Middle School Math
Miss Fox received her master's degree in education from Liberty University. She has taught English as a second language in Korea and tutored at-risk kids through the American Red Cross' after-school program. She also teaches CPR and First Aid certification courses to students.

Pam Miles – Middle and High School Science
Mrs. Miles has taught at FCA for three years. She received her bachelors degree in medical technology from East Tennessee State University. She also earned a masters degree in teaching from Liberty University. Before teaching at FCA full-time, Mrs. Miles taught enrichment and tutored for four years. She and her husband, Barry, a farmer, live in Evington and have two daughters, Jennifer and Karen.

Nathan Parr – High School Math
Mr. Parr, who grew up in Bedford, double-majored in computer science and psychology at Hampden-Sydney College. He served as vice president of InterVarsity, a Christian college ministry, and participated in math and soccer clubs. Mr. Parr, who coaches soccer and basketball, teaches high school math courses.

Jeffrey Westbrook - High School English
Mr. Westbrook has a master's degree in English as a foreign language from Columbia International University and a bachelor's degree in French from Furman University. He taught at Liberty University for three years. He also taught at a Christian school in North Carolina and at the university level in South Korea for six years. His wife, Susan, teaches fourth grade at FCA. They have three children.

Eddie McDonald – High School Bible
Mr. McDonald has taught at Faith for seven years. A Liberty University graduate, he also serves as minister at First Southern Baptist Church in Hurt. He and his wife, Rachel, have three children, Anna, Katie, and Liam.

Sommer Speck - Physical Education and Health
Mrs. Speck teaches physical education for elementary and middle school students, along with ninth and tenth grade girls. Mrs. Speck, who grew up in Texas, taught PE, Bible, and science classes at United Christian Academy in Charlottesville for eight years. Her husband, Matt, is the minister at Piney Grove Baptist Church. They have four sons at FCA: Cody, a senior; Jacob, 10th grade; Caleb, 9th grade; and Justin, 7th grade. Mrs. Speck also coaches volleyball.

Jonathan Parker – Director of School Advancement/Middle School Bible
Mr. Parker has worked at Faith Christian for five years. He teaches Middle School Bible. He holds a bachelors degree in communications from Liberty University. His duties include student recruitment, student retention, marketing, and developing community partnerships. He worked as the Altavista Journal editor for four years prior to joining Faith Christian. His wife, Becky, is a dental hygienist in Altavista.

Tiana Hudson – Librarian
Mrs. Hudson has worked as the librarian at Faith for five years. She also taught fifth grade for over three years. She has a bachelor’s degree in elementary education from Trinity Baptist College in Jacksonville, Fla. She and husband, Jamie, have a son, Jonah. Her favorite verses are Ecclesiastes 3:11 and Psalms 73:26.

Ruth Anne Adams – Art/Music/Technology
Mrs. Adams has a bachelors degree in family and consumer science from Liberty University. She taught preschool at Faith Christian for one year and has substituted for several years. She and husband, Alan, have three children, Allison, Jason, and Benjamin
