His Team Basketball
Faith Christian Academy conducts a fall basketball program for school and community children, beginning in September. The program focuses on basketball skill development for kindergartners to sixth-graders. His Team basketball is open to all children. The program begins with a skills day. After practice, coaches will organize teams. The season consists of a team practice session and games, which will be held each Saturday through the end of October.

Donkey Basketball Classic
Faith Christian Academy opens its doors to the community for a Donkey Basketball Tournament. This year’s tournament is set for Thursday, February 11 at 7 p.m. The tournament consists of four teams, each with six to eight players. Two teams ride donkeys, while playing basketball in the gymnasium. The teams consist of local organizations, including fire departments, rescue squads, and police departments. Last year’s tournament sold out. Ticket information will be available in January.
Summer Learning Camps
Summer Learning Camps are central to the school’s community outreach philosophy. Each summer, students — over half of them from other schools — attend learning camps. The school provides five weeklong day camps with different focuses, including art, science, aviation, cooking, history, and sports. These camps encourage learning in a fun and caring environment during the summer and are open to all community children.

Archery Program
Faith Christian Academy opens its doors to the Altavista Area YMCA’s youth archery program, beginning in November. The program is for boys and girls, from third to 12th grades. The archery program meets on Wednesday nights in the gymnasium. For more information on the archery program, visit www.altavistaareaymca.com.
Community Support
The school is a member of the Altavista Area Chamber of Commerce and Danville-Pittsylvania County Chamber of Commerce. Faith also works alongside the Altavista Ministerial Association.
