Servant Leadership

Servant Leadership

Secondary students (grades 6-12) take an active part in bettering the communities around them through service projects. Students participate in a variety of volunteer work throughout the year.

Some of the projects include delivering stuffed animals to children in hospitals, raking leaves for the elderly and needy, serving meals at homeless shelters, giving out free bottled water, adopting a family for Christmas, picking up trash in the community, and visiting with nursing home residents.

Faith Christian wants students to follow Jesus’ example of Christian service by rolling up their sleeves and helping someone else. By taking part in service projects, they can focus on the world around them instead of thinking the world revolves around them.

Missions Trip

Faith Christian Academy believes that overseas and stateside mission trips can play a pivotal role in helping young people develop a heart for serving and loving others. Students have participated in missions trips to Puertor Rico, Guatemala, Brazil.

Community Partnership

Faith Christian Academy wants to build strong community partnerships with businesses, churches, civic groups, and citizens. It is vital to the growth of our area that relationships are used to foster teamwork, making this a vibrant community for the future.

FCA In The Community

Summer Learning Camps

Summer Learning Camps are central to the school’s community outreach philosophy. Each summer, students — over half of them from other schools — attend learning camps. The school provides five weeklong day camps with different focuses, including art, science, aviation, cooking, history, and sports. These camps encourage learning in a fun and caring environment during the summer and are open to all community children.

Community Support

The school is a member of the Altavista Area Chamber of Commerce and Danville-Pittsylvania County Chamber of Commerce. Faith also works alongside the Altavista Ministerial Association.
