Mr. Scott Bose - Head of School

Mr. Bose is honored to serve as the head of school at FCA. He is passionate about Biblical integration, school improvement, and supporting teachers and students.  Mr. Bose has a degree in elementary education, two graduate degrees: one in church leadership & one in school leadership and is presently working on an EdS in educational leadership.  He has taught upper elementary and middle school in the US and abroad.  Mr. Bose has held executive leadership roles in three international Christian schools in South America.  He also spent two years in higher ed. administration at Liberty University.  Mr. Bose enjoys reading, fishing and coaching.  His wife, Stacey, is an Assistant Professor in the School of Education at Liberty University.  They have three children: Kaylee, Ema and Tj.

Mrs. Lisa A. Moore – Assistant Administrator

Mrs. Moore begins her 34th year in Christian education with the first ten years teaching at a Christian school in Maryland before being led to be the Administrator at Faith Christian Academy in 1995.  She is now in her 24th year at FCA stepping into the role of Assistant Administrator & Elementary Principal in 2014.  She earned her bachelor's degree in elementary education and psychology from Grace College in Winona Lake, IN and her master's in school counseling from University of Maryland.  She has a passion for Christian education.  She is married to Dale Moore and they live on a farm in Altavista.

Mr. Tyler Savage - Athletic Director/Phys. Ed & Health

Mr. Savage is excited to bring his experience of both interscholastic and intercollegiate athletics to FCA.  While attending Liberty University and studying sports management, he worked with the Men's Basketball Program in several different capacities.  Mr. Savage and his wife are excited to return to the Hurt, Altavista and Lynchburg areas after spending time in Orlando, Florida, where he worked in interscholastic athletics.  Now, he looks forward to his first year of teaching at FCA and also as the new Athletic Director in helping FCA athletic department grow while also encouraging students to be who they are called to be in Christ.

Mrs. Cindy Jamerson - Preschool - K3

This will be Mrs. Jamerson's 11th year teaching our preschool at Faith Christian Academy.  She has also taught our preschool summer camps for several years.  She enjoys Contemporary Christian music and flower gardening.  Mrs. Jamerson and her husband, Paul, have two sons, Danny and Paul.  Both sons are graduates from FCA.  Her favorite scripture verse for this year is Jeremiah 29:11, "For I know the plans I have for you", declares the Lord, "plans to prosper you and not to harm you, plans to give you a hope and a future."

Mrs. Miriam Moshkowski - Preschool - K4/3 day class

Mrs. Moshkowski grew up in a small town in New Hampshire. She majored in Early Childhood Education at Northpoint Bible College where she met her husband, Michael. They have 5 children and recently moved here from New York where she had taught preschool at Parkside Christian School.  Mrs. Moshkowski is a water color artist who can always be found engrossed in a painting, craft or good book. She has a deep love for God's creation and naturally incorporates her love for art, music and the outdoors directly into her classroom. Her favorite hymn is "In the Garden" and her verse for this season is Deut. 31:8.  She is very excited for her second year of teaching here at Faith Christian Academy.

Mrs. Cecelia Franklin - Preschool - K4/5 day class

Mrs. Franklin is excited to be returning to FCA for her third year teaching the K4 class.  She is married with three grown children and six grandchildren.  She has a little dog named Dottie.  Mrs. Franklin is a 1998 graduate of the University of Lynchburg with a B.A. in Early Childhood Development and attends Motley United Methodist Church.  She enjoys spending time with her family and going to the beach.  Her favorite scripture is Proverbs 3:5-6, "Trust in the Lord with all thine heart, lean not on thine own understanding.  Acknowledge Him and He shall direct thy paths."

Mrs. Janice Shaffer – Kindergarten

Mrs. Shaffer is beginning her 8th year at Faith Christian Academy as our kindergarten teacher.  She earned her M.Ed. in elementary education from Liberty University and earned her bachelor's degree from Geneva College in PA.  She has taught and directed in preschools and daycares.  Mrs. Shaffer loves helping her students discover the joy of reading. Her favorite Christian authors are Max Lucado & Terri Blackstock & her favorite movie is "Ever After".  Aside from reading, in her spare time she also enjoys painting, knitting, sewing & photography. She and her husband, Barry, have two grown children and five grandchildren. Her favorite verse is Isaiah 40:31.

Mrs. Shirley Fero – First Grade

A California native, Mrs. Fero received her bachelor's from Liberty University where she met her husband, Barry, while they travelled on a drama team.  She has an ACSI credential and has taught at Liberty Christian Academy, Bethany Christian Academy, Vineyard Christian School, and Liberty Christian School in Southern California for a combined total of twenty-three years.  This will be Mrs. Fero's 2nd year here at FCA.  In her spare time she enjoys reading and spending time with family.  Her favorite book is "Little Women".  Her favorite verse is Isaiah 40:31 and her song of choice would be "I Can Only Imagine".  Mrs. Fero and her husband, Barry, have owned many different pets but she is especially fond of cats.  Mr. & Mrs. Fero have a grown son who is an ordained pastor and daughter who is also an elementary teacher.

Mrs. Jennifer Watson - 2nd Grade

Mrs. Watson begins her first year here with us at FCA in 2018.  She has been teaching in the Forest area home school community for 7 years. She holds an Elementary Education degree from UNC-Chapel Hill and a Masters in Education from UVA.  She has a passion for using various teaching techniques in order for the learning process to make sense to her students. She says it is very rewarding to see students grasp new concepts and have a love for learning!  Mrs. Watson and her husband Danny, who is an avid Hokie fan, enjoy sporting activities and you can usually find them at a field or pool with their children in their spare time.  One of Mrs. Watson's favorite scriptures is Proverbs 3:5-6.

Mrs. Kim Willard – Third Grade

Mrs. Willard is in her 17th year at FCA and has a bachelor's degree in elementary education from Lee University in Cleveland, TN.  She has taught a range of elementary classes from preschool through fifth.  She enjoys teaching in a Christian school because of her freedom to teach children that Jesus loves them.  Besides spending time with her husband, David, she enjoys reading and bird watching.  Mr. Willard is the pastor of Valley View Church of God in Altavista and also works in the hospital doing echocardiograms. Mrs. Willard's favorite verse is Jeremiah 29:11.

Mrs. Cindy Irby – Fourth & Fifth Grade

Mrs. Cindy Irby, a native of Tennessee, begins her 15th year here at FCA.  She graduated with a bachelor's degree in education from Liberty University and has taught for 28 years in all for third through sixth graders.  She and her husband, Doug, have two children. Lexi and Collin, both honor graduates of FCA, and they are now both students at Liberty University.  Her favorite part about teaching is being able to explain new concepts to the students, and knowing that they understand by the look in their eyes.  When Mrs. Irby is not involved in planning events for the high school students' activities, she enjoys reading Christian Fiction.  Her favorite book is Sophie's Heart by Lori Wick. She also likes to collect stuffed pets, especially lions, for her classroom. Go Lions!!  Mrs. Irby's favorite scripture is Jeremiah 29:11 and she loves the song, "Amazing Grace" by the group, Point of Grace.

Miss Jenny Conner – Middle & High School History

This will be Miss Conner's 4th year of teaching at FCA. She is a Georgia native and received her bachelor's degree in History, Technology & Society from the Georgia Institute of Technology and completed her Masters of Teaching in Secondary Social Studies Eductaion at Georgia State University. Miss Conner loves to make connections in history from the past to current events today and see the students make these connections as well.  Aside from teaching our Secondary History, Miss Conner is also our Varsity Volleyball Coach.  She enjoys playing sports, baking, and traveling as much as possible. Her favorite movie series is the "Lord of the Rings" Trilogy and her favorite verse is Luke 9:23.

Mr. Barry Fero - Middle & High School Bible / Science / MS Math

This will be Mr. Fero's 2nd year of teaching at FCA.  A New York native, Mr. Fero received his bachelor's and master's degrees from Liberty University where he met his wife, Shirley, while they travelled on a drama team.  He taught at Liberty Christian Academy, Bethany Christian Academy, Pacific Baptist College, and Liberty Christian School in Southern California.  While teaching, he was also the Pastor of Grace Baptist Church for over twenty-five years.  Mr. Fero's hobbies include hunting, fishing, and collecting old books.  His favorite book is the Bible and his favorite scripture is Micah 6:8.  His favorite movie is "Saving Private Ryan" and he enjoys potato chips and Reese's Cups as his favorite snack.  He and his wife enjoy animals and at one time they owned 4 dogs, 4 cats, 1 bird, 8 turtles, 1 tortoise and 20 fish!  Mr. & Mrs. Fero have a grown son who is an ordained pastor and daughter who is an elementary teacher. 

Miss Tracey Fox - Economics/Personal Finance & Anatomy

Miss Fox came from Pennsylvania by way of Word of Life Bible Institute, in New York, to study at Liberty University.  There she earned her bachelor's and master's degrees.  This will be Miss Fox's 9th year at Faith Christian Academy and she is looking forward to seeing what God will do this school year!  Miss Fox loves watching ice hockey and drinking copious amounts of black coffee.  She has been a volunteer in EMS for 17 years.  One of her favorite passages of scripture is Matthew 6, especially verse 33, because it says when we make pursuing God our priority, everything else falls into place.  Matthew 6:33 says: "But seek ye first the kingdom of God, and his righteousness; and all these things shall be added unto you."

Mrs. Wendy Kapp - Middle School English & Bible

Mrs. Kapp is blessed to be teaching at Faith Christian Academy.  Raised near rural Callands, Virginia in a large and loving Christian family, she graduated from Franklin County High School before earning her bachelor's & master's degrees in English from Radford University.  Mrs. Kapp has taught at Galax High School, Southern Alamance High School in North Carolina, and Judah Christian School in Illinois.  She became a teacher to share her passion for knowledge, words, & language with the next generation.  She enjoys studying the Bible, history, reading, researching family genealogy, & watching the sun rise on the back deck.  She is married to Paul, an architect.  They have one son, John Paul, a freshman at Hargrave Military Academy.  Her favorite verse is Eccl 2:26a - "For God gives wisdom, and knowledge and joy to a man who is good in His sight..."

Ms. Lori Metzger – High School Math & Spanish II

This is Ms. Metzger's second year teaching at FCA.  She has a double major in Math and Spanish.  Mrs. Metzger has previously taught in public schools, homeschool co-ops, parochial, and private Christian schools.  In her spare time, she enjoys playing card or board games, taking road trips and reading.  Her favorite movie is a well-known classic, "The Princess Bride" and her favorite snack is fruit or anything salty & crunchy.  Ms. Metzger grew up near the beach, so she now enjoys the change of scenery as she has begun this new phase of her life in the beautiful mountains of Central Virginia and teaching at Faith Christian Academy.

Mrs. Jennifer Prince - High School Science

Mrs. Prince joins us for her 2nd year at Faith Christian. She is a 1994 graduate of LU with a Bachelor of Science degree in Biology, after which she taught HS Science at a Christian school for 4 yrs untill she had her first baby in 1999. She and her husband, Earl, now have 3 teenagers, and she finds this the perfect time for her to begin her part-time teaching career. She enjoys writing, vintage things and experiencing all things local whether it be history, supporting neighborhood shops and locally owned restaurants. Fostering kittens is also a fun pastime for her family and their summers are filled with bottle feeding and 'kitty cuteness' in their 1922 historic home near downtown Lynchburg.

Mrs. Sharon Witt - High School English Teacher

Mrs. Witt was raised in Bedford County by Christian parents.  She graduated from Liberty University with a bachelor's degree in English Education and a minor in Journalism.  After spending several years homeschooling her children and teaching in public and private schools, Mrs. Witt returned to school as a full-time student and earned a master's degree in English from Southern New Hampshire University.  Then she began to teach high school English & Creative Writing courses online.  This will be Mrs. Witt's second year of teaching at FCA.  Her husband is a pastor, and they have a grown son and daughter. Her favorite verse is Isaiah 40:31.  In her spare time, Mrs. Witt enjoys visiting historical sites, reading classic novels, cooking Southern food, and walking with her lively Jack Russell terrier, Hadassah.

Mrs. Ruth Anne Adams – Art/Music/Computer Teacher

Mrs. Adams is celebrating her 11th year of teaching here at Faith Christian Academy. She received her bachelor's degree from Liberty University in 2005. Her and her husband, Alan, have three children. Their daughter, Allison, is 27 years old & attended FCA from first grade through to graduation in 2008. Their son, Jason, 22, attended Faith Christian Academy from K-3 to 12th grade and graduated in 2014. Their youngest son, Benjamin, started attending FCA in K-4. He is now 17 years old and will be a senior this year.  Mrs. Adams loves to hear her students "sing for Jesus" and her favorite show is "I Love Lucy"!  She especially enjoys spending time with her cute grandson, Roman!

Mrs. Rachel Hoagland - High School Drama Teacher

Mrs. Hoagland's 1st year here at FCA she taught MS English, 2nd year as our librarian and now she enjoys teaching our new high school drama team. Books and teaching are her passion, but she can often be seen lugging around a guitar, and she is rarely spotted without a cup of coffee. Her favorite topic of conversation is anything regarding foreign cultures. She has a BA in TESL from Liberty University and has been tutoring ESL and other subjects for nine years. Before LU, she attended Word of Life Bible Institute in New York where she met the love of her life, Peter. Last May they had their first child, little Rose.  One of her favorite verses is Phil 3:13-14: "Forgetting what is behind and straining toward what is ahead, I press on toward the goal to win the prize for which God has called me heavenward in Christ Jesus."

Mrs. Lisy Hunzeker - Secondary Choir Teacher

Mrs. Hunzeker is happy to share her passion for music with the Choir at FCA. She is married & has two boys ages 2 & 4. As part of the National Guild of Piano Teachers, she started teaching piano privately in New York in 1997. She also had the privilege to teach children from American military families in Bararia, Germany from 2002-2005. A unique calling to serve in the U.S. Marine Corps Band transformed her perspective on life and her purpose with songwriting/music performance. She served Active Duty from 2008-2012 and then in the Marine Corps Reserves from 2012-2013 as part of the HMM-774 Aviation Squadron. Mrs. Hunzeker has a Bachelor's degree in Business Admin. (Marketing/Psychology) from Boston University. She also has completed her Master's degree in Human Services Counseling with a specialization in Christian life coaching from Liberty University. As a Marine, a mom, & a musician, Mrs. Hunzeker enjoys camping, hiking, cooking international foods and making inspirational music.  One of her favorite proverbs is "Trust in the Lord with all your heart; lean not on your own understanding. In all your ways, acknowledge Him and He shall set your paths straight."

Mrs. Alicia DeWever - Librarian & Admissions Coordinator

Mrs. DeWever was born & raised in Connecticut, graduating from Summit University in 2003 with a bachelor's degree.  She's spent time with children of all ages, specifically as a Summer Missionary with Child Evangelism Fellowship & as a Residential Coordinator for New England Salem Children's Village.  After moving to this area from New Hampshire, she & her husband built a home in Lynch Station where they live with their two children.  It's been more than ten years since they came, & Mrs. DeWever has used her communications degree throughout Central VA.  Besides making new friends she loves gardening, hiking & trying new foods!  She is excited to foster creative thinking through the library & to showcase the wonderful environment of FCA for all to see.

Mrs. Angela Carlberg - Administrative Assistant, Main Office

This will be Mrs. Carlberg's 2nd year working at FCA but she has been a part of the school "family" since her son, Andrew, was enrolled to FCA from homeschooling in 2013 as a 6th grader.  Before homeschooling, she was employed as Admin. Assistant for a financial advising company in Lynchburg.  She and her husband, Bob, have been married for 22 years and the family currently resides in a house they built near Leesville Lake.  In her spare time, she enjoys walking, baking/cooking and studying nutrition.  Mrs. Carlberg also enjoys watching old classics.. and her favorite vacation spot has always been The Outer Banks!

Mrs. Debbie Dalton - Administrative Assistant, Elementary Office

Mrs. Dalton studied at CVCC and earned her LPN degree from South Boston Regional School of Nursing. She has served as Administrative Assistant at FCA for 26 years but has been part of Faith Christian since the 1990's when her children attended here.  Her hobbies include gardening and beekeeping with her husband, Mark, and spending time with their three grandchildren.  Their favorite vacation spot is the Outer Banks in North Carolina.   Mrs. Dalton's favorite passage of scripture is Psalms 91, especially verses 1-2 that say, "He who dwells in the shelter of the Most High will abide in the shadow of th Almighty. I will say to the Lord, "My refuge and my fortress, my God, in whom I trust".  She also enjoys reading in her spare time and one of her favorite authors is Priscilla Shirer.  She was very inspired by Priscilla's recent movie, "War Room"

Mrs. Rebecca Scott - Administrative Assistant, Elementary Office

This is Mrs. Scott's first year at FCA although her boys have attended here since 2011.  She enjoys the atmosphere here at FCA and loves working with her new co-workers.  In her spare time, Mrs. Scott has her own practice as a hair stylist which she began in 2005.  She recently graduated from Liberty Online with a BS in Psychology/Christian Counseling. Mrs. Scott has been married to her husband, Shawn, FCA's new Middle School Basketball Coach, for 13 years and they have two boys that attend Faith.  She loves spending time with her family, going to the beach and watching Duke Basketball! 

Mrs. Faith Wilt - Bookkeeper

This will be Mrs. Wilt's 1st year working at FCA, though she joined the Faith "family" when her daughter started K4 in 2017.  God brought Mrs. Wilt and her family to the area of Lynch Station the summer of 2017, from Ocklawaha, Florida.  She was raised in Florida & welcomed the change in climate & scenery.  She is a graduate of the College of Central Florida where she received her A.S. in both Accounting & Agribusiness.  She has owned & operated her own bookkeeping and tax business since 2013.  Mrs. Wilt enjoys spending time with her family, exploring her new surroundings, & riding horses with her daughter.  They currently have 2 horses, 3 dogs & 1 cat but plan to add cows, pigs & chickens to their small farm in the near future.  Her family's favorite vacation spot is Peurto Rico.

Mrs. Amy Irby & Mrs. Donna Woodford - After School Care

We have extended school care from 12-3pm for our preschoolers.  This includes lunch time, nap time, activity & play time.  We also have after school care from 3-5pm.  Mrs. Irby and Mrs. Woodford are dedicated to meeting the children's needs and helping bridge the gap of time for our working parents.  Mrs. Irby and her husband, Tommy, have a daughter that previously graduated from FCA and two more children that currently attend FCA, one to graduate this year!  Mrs. Woodford and her husband, Brian, also have two children that attend FCA.  Brian, we know him best as "Coach Woodford", is also our Varsity Basketball Coach.  We appreciate their dedication to FCA & their willingness to serve!
