Preschool
Attending Faith Christian Academyβs preschool program is an enriching experience for young children academically, spiritually and emotionally. We integrate faith-based teachings with early childhood education. Attending a Christian school provides children with a well-rounded education that nurtures them and offers a supportive and loving environment where students can thrive individually and as part of their community. Why should your family choose the preschool program at FCA?
1. Faith-Based Curriculum
Children are introduced to Christian values and teachings through stories, songs, prayers, and activities. Biblical principles are a central part of our curriculum, students will learn about Jesus, creation, and other foundational biblical truths. Students in our preschool programs that are in session on Fridays will attend weekly chapel. During chapel they will have praise and worship together and hear inspiring and interactive messages from missionaries, local pastors and our staff and faculty.
2. Character Development
FCAβs preschool emphasizes positive character qualities like kindness, sharing, honesty, and respect. These values are shown in daily interactions and lessons, helping children develop a strong ethical foundation. We want to positively reinforce good character traits through encouragement, modeling, and intentional teaching moments. Whether itβs helping a friend clean up, taking turns during play, or speaking truthfully, children are guided to recognize and practice these values in real-life situations. Our goal is to nurture not only early academic skills but also compassionate, respectful, and socially responsible individuals.
3. Cub Club Community
Attending preschool at FCA means being part of our Cub Club. Children, parents, and teachers form strong bonds, creating a supportive and nurturing environment for the students. This sense of community can be comforting and can help children feel more secure and connected in the classroom. Our staff, teachers and administration partner with parents to help students reach their full potential and succeed in and out of the classroom.
4. Early Education
Children engage in activities that promote cognitive, social, emotional and physical development. They learn basic academic skills like counting, the alphabet, colors and shapes, as well as social skills like cooperation and communication. Each week at FCA, we focus on a new number, letter, color and shape learning in a fun and structured way. Our days also include Bible verse memorization, learning the days of the week, singing songs, learning about our community, and enjoying story time. Reading is a big part of our classroom activities; we love books! Our goal is to read between 4 and 7 stories each day.
5. Positive Environment
At FCA, we aim to create a loving and positive atmosphere across our campus. Teachers model Christ-like love and compassion, with a focus on building peaceful, joyful classrooms. In addition to using positive reinforcement, our teachers and staff are committed to providing students with the individualized attention they need at this young age. Thanks to our small class sizes, 8:1 in K3 and 10:1 in K4, students and teachers are able to build stronger relationships and have greater confidence in the classroom setting.
6. Parental Involvement
We encourage parental involvement and provide many opportunities to be active at FCA. Parents have the chance to participate in school events, volunteer in the classroom, or join in prayer groups. This involvement helps reinforce the values being taught and strengthens the school community. A unique volunteer option at FCA is becoming part of our Lunch Bunch! Every Monday a rotating group of parent and grandparent volunteers, led by Paynton Community Church, fix lunch for the FCA student body. Parents also like to volunteer in our school library or with one of our athletic teams. If you are unsure where to volunteer, you can speak with a member of our administration team to help match your skills with an area in need.
