FCA holds annual widow/widower lunch
Faith Christian Academy continued a cherished tradition on November 17 as students, staff, and volunteers gathered to honor local widows and widowers during the school’s annual Thanksgiving Luncheon. The event, held in the school’s Campus Center, welcomed guests from the community for an afternoon of fellowship, gratitude, and service.
From the moment guests arrived, they were greeted at the doors by smiling FCA students who offered handshakes, hugs, and guided assistance to their tables. Middle and high school students served as hosts throughout the event, escorting guests, chatting with them during the meal, and ensuring everyone had a wonderful time. Staff members and volunteers worked with students in preparing and serving the homemade Thanksgiving meal, which featured traditional favorites such as turkey, dressing, mashed potatoes, seasonal desserts and more.
It was a joyous event as generations came together to share stories, laughter, and encouragement. Many guests expressed appreciation not only for the delicious meal but for the love and attention poured into every detail of the afternoon.
“Our goal is to show Christ’s love in practical, meaningful ways,” said one staff member. “This luncheon reminds our students that service is a privilege and that small acts of kindness can make a big difference.”
Faith Christian Academy looks forward to continuing this tradition for many more years to come, fostering connections that strengthen both the school and the community it serves.
